Geoff Dutton is a writer, photographer, and sometime naturalist living in Oxfordshire, UK.
Since 2015, Geoff has been working as a writer of short stories and novels and working on his long term project Entanglement around the imagined life of Manto, the Sibyl of Cumae. He has attended creating writing courses offered by the Arvon Foundation and Oxford University Continuing Education Department. In 2022-23 he was a student on the Jericho Writers Ultimate Novel Writing Course, which he would recommend to anybody as a comprehensive introduction to the techniques of novel writing.
In a previous life, Geoff qualified with First Class Honours in Engineering Science at the University of Durham and gained a Ph.D. in dynamic fracture mechanics at the University of Liverpool. He worked for more than twenty years as a renewable energy engineer investigating the design, materials, and loading of wind turbine blades and more generally in renewable energy systems, particularly the hydrogen energy economy. He is the author a co-author of more than 70 technical papers and reports.
